NV1 Project Director

  • 4 year engagement + extension
  • Must be in Canberra
  • Must have a NV1 clearance
  • Candidate must be an Australian citizen

The Role

Our ideal candidate would have experience in managing large government projects with a strong background in ICT and design. Our ideal candidate must also have experience in large government or similar organisations.

Key duties may include:

  •  Develop, implement and evaluate project plans and schedules in accordance with the agency’s project management framework and consider project interdependencies.
  •  Collaborate with staff in the immediate work area and with internal and external stakeholders.
  •  Oversee project design, governance arrangements and operational integration within the Caroline Chisholm Centre including relocation/construction of the Infrastructure Lab. The space consists of an IT build room, IT secure build room, IT secure storeroom and infrastructure lab rack room. Tasks include:
    • Develop detailed scope to relocate basement backbone switches.
    • Develop a detailed scope to build a new infrastructure LAN and associated build. room in a current active space that supplies network connectivity to the current building.
    • Develop a detailed scope for the internal design of agency ICT network

Reviewing and providing solutions for, but not limited to:

  • ICON racks
  • Cyber LAN
  • Access Layer Passive Infrastructure
  • Security systems
  • Telstra NTU
  • Wide Area Network ( WAN)
  • Backbone Passive Infrastructure
  • Access Layer Active infrastructure
  • Access Layer Passive Infrastructure
  • Removal of Redundant Services

Selection Criteria

  •  Demonstrated experience in project management in large scale projects for government or similar organisations
  •  Ability to contribute to the agency's continuous improvement by improving systems, processes and tools related to project management and reporting.
  •  Ability to deliver the ICT and design elements requested.
  • Excellent Stakeholder management and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively that contributes to a cross-functional team development pipeline.
  • Experience tracking a complex ICT project and providing support to clear blocking issues.
  •  Ability to produce talking points, project documentation and undertake research and issue resolution independently.
  •  A minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management in large scale projects for the government.
