Head of Thrive (Middle School) position of responsibility and ongoing classroom teacher role

Thrive is a subject that enables students to cultivate personal, real-world, and future ready skills with a view towards increasing individual and community capacity and wellbeing. 

This is achieved through a highly engaging environment of exploration and inquiry. Students delve into the connections between themselves and their ever-changing community. This is achieved through a progressive curriculum, that builds on four key capabilities;

  • Social
  • Financial
  • Educational
  • Vocational. 

Thrive offers students the opportunity to engage with a range of different organisations and perspectives. 

Head of Thrive (Middle School) is responsible for the development of the Thrive curriculum from Years 5-8 across all of Haileybury’s Melbourne operations including Haileybury Pangea. The curriculum must be consistent across each site, ensuring a high standard for all students. The Head of Thrive (Middle School) will liaise closely with a number of other staff, including; Heads of Department in Junior, Middle and Senior School, Heads of Middle School and Heads of Campus to ensure an excellent teaching and learning program is offered with continuity and clear pathways.

This is a permanent full-time position of Middle School Classroom Teacher (any teaching method, any Melbourne campus) commences Term 1, 2025. This is coupled with a 5-year fixed term leadership ‘position of responsibility’ as the Head of Thrive (Middle School), ending 31 December 2029.
