What you'll be doing
The Senior Data Engineer role is responsible for the design and management of the organisation's data platform architecture, ensuring secure access and availability of data, development of information management standards and practices, defining data models, and aligning it with the enterprise architectural plan, in accordance with the needs of the business.

Selection Criteria
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, Mathematics and/or relevant equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working in cloud infrastructure and high level of competency in MS Azure and AWS architecture and tools (authoring a Data Platform and monitoring Pipelines, Datasets and Data Flows)
- Proficient in data modelling and design, including SQL development, database administration, database management and data warehouse/platform design.
- Strong working knowledge and skills in ETL tools using Python and Microsoft SSIS and other cloud based ETL / ELT solutions
- Demonstrated experience working with and the design of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Possess excellent communication skills with experience in translating business needs into technical solutions, evidenced by presenting to large groups, senior management and executives and producing informative technical and non-technical documentation.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritise workload and work productively in both a busy office environment or via remote locations.
- Experience managing workflow of a small engineering team with the ability to share knowledge, and build technical currency within the team.
