We are seeking experienced individuals for three (3) Strategic Technology Advisor roles at the Office of Digital Government (DGov) in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. These roles will play a pivotal role in ICT program and project delivery across government to support the digital transformation of the WA public sector.

As highly skilled ICT practitioners the Strategic Technology Advisor roles will play a critical role in the delivery of ICT projects across the WA public sector. This includes an assurance function for high value and complex ICT projects and providing advice to ICT projects during the planning phase.

If you are an IT leader with a strong background in successfully delivering high value and complex ICT projects, we encourage you to apply for one of these roles.

About Us

The Department of the Premier and Cabinet supports the Premier as head of the Western Australian Government. The Department is a central agency that leads the public sector in providing advice and support to the Premier and Cabinet in their service of the Western Australian Community. For more information about the Department, please visit our website.

Within the Department, the Office of Digital Government (DGov) works under the direction of the Minister for Innovation and the Digital Economy to lead, support and coordinate the digital transformation of the WA public sector. This includes providing more convenient access to government services online, and not disadvantaging those who cannot or do not want to use digital services. Ensuring that personal information and data collected, stored and shared by the WA Government is protected, is a crucial element of what we do.

About the Role

In 2021 the WA Government launched the Digital Strategy 2021-2025 and established the Digital Capability Fund (the Fund). DGov stewards the implementation of the Digital Strategy and administers the Fund. Since its establishment the Fund has funded more than 75 projects across 27 agencies. Government is strengthening its project delivery capability to ensure these projects are successfully delivered.

As a member of the DGov team, you will support WA’s digital transformation working in collaboration with senior leaders across government to deliver impactful outcomes for the sector.

You will help to plan and deliver digital transformation programs. You may be allocated to and embedded in key programs across the sector for a specified period of time, during which you will work closely with their executives, business unit leaders and technical teams.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of strategic and technical approaches to delivering ICT projects in complex environments. You will also need to be an excellent communicator and a skilled problem solver, with the ability to engage stakeholders, influence outcomes and provide clear, actionable guidance to others. You will embody the Department of the Premier and Cabinet’s values of leadership, connection and impact to deliver outcomes for the Western Australian community.

In return, we offer a competitive salary package supported by a WA Government Attraction and Retention Incentive, flexible working arrangements, and the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex, innovative and exciting digital projects in the country.
