About the Team

Safety is our top priority at ARTC, not just for our employees and contractors but also for rail operators and the communities we serve. As a key leader of the People and Performance team, reporting to the Group Executive People and Performance, you and your team play a crucial role in ensuring the 1,600 strong workforce are supported with best practice systems, processes and advice to ensure all functional and operational areas are positioned to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of the business.

The People Business Partnering team have been at the forefront in partnering front line staff and leaders in both day to day operations as well as championing the strategic ARTC Futures change program. The team is highly capable, you will directly support their future growth, and drive change for the simplification and enhancement of systems, processes, talent and workforce planning.

About the Opportunity

Through the authentic leadership of your team, you are accountable for developing, managing and improving people systems and support. This includes ensuring people practices, policies and programs are consistently supported across all operational and functional teams in ARTC. You will be a key proponent in driving relationship at all levels to ensure the people aspects required to support the strategic initiatives of the ARTC Futures program is achieved.

What do we want from you?

  • As a key leader you will model ARTC's leadership capabilities which include Leading Safely, Leading Authentically, Leading Collaboratively, Leading Sustainably and Leading Performance.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a fast paced, dynamic multi-site environment with the ability to prioritise competing goals and resources.
  • A strong generalist HR pedigree, to ensure the consistent deployment and management of people processes and policies across the business.
  • Highly developed communication, advocacy, influencing, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • A proven track record of leading and developing teams, sponsoring their growth and development while challenging them in leading best practice solutions and support.
  • A broad based generalist HR capability, including exposure to IR, with evidence of compelling achievements in supporting strategic and operational goals in similar heavy engineering, infrastructure or capital operating environments is essential.
  • Ideally an HR or business degree is preferred while post-graduate qualifications will also be highly regarded
