NGO Recruitment (View other jobs from this organisation)
- Drive clean energy transition for safe and affordable fossil-free cooking
- Global campaign role working with major property and celebrity chef partners
- Remote, Australia/nearby Asia; flexible working, ESG related experience ideal
The Organisation
Leading urgent action to combat the climate crisis, the membership of the Global Cooksafe Coalition (GCC) is an alliance of public health, climate, aid and development agencies, property developers and leading chefs. The members have joined forces to promote universal access to safe and sustainable cooking, on fossil-fuel free electric appliances, by 2030 in new kitchens, and 2040 in existing kitchens.
The recently formed GCC has an ambition to make cooking safe and affordable for everyone. The building and construction sector accounts for 37 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions and cooking is a major driver of gas connections. Solid fuel and kerosene use internationally for cooking leads to 3.2 million premature deaths from air pollution each year. Alliance members include Lendlease, The GPT Group, Grosvenor and leading chefs including Neil Perry, Palisa Anderson, Simon Rogan, and Santiago Lastra.
To avoid undue influence, and to remain an independent not-for-profit organisation, GCC is only funded by philanthropy, and does not accept funding from its members, corporations, or government.
