About the role:

This position will see you work closely with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists to provide safe and efficient patient-centred radiation therapy to the community in the New England and North West regions. You will lead and support a committed team of radiation therapists, whilst being well supported yourself by the Operations Manager and the wider team.

You will be part of an active NSW Chiefs of Radiation Therapy group that meets regularly. We also provide a variety of virtual and in-person education and training programs, including opportunities to build leadership and people management skills. Within your first three months, you’ll work with your manager to develop a personalised training and development plan.

The Tamworth North West Cancer Centre is a state-of-the-art facility, home to one Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and a Siemens CT, and Eclipse planning software.

About You:

We are looking for a positive leader, who is committed to creating and maintaining workplace harmony. You should be able to communicate respectfully and maintain effective relationships with staff and managers. This role will require you to successfully develop and implement changes in practice.

Requirements:

• Registered as a Radiation Therapist with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) as regulated by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Holds or eligible to hold a NSW Radiation licence as issued by the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) regulatory body to use an ionising radiation apparatus for the purpose of radiation therapy and supervision.

Additional Information: 

• To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
