Our Group Enablement Teams are the Technology, Business Enablement, Value Chain, and Replenishment experts developing new capabilities and platforms for a better retail future. What will I be doing?
This role will see you responsible for leading the teams providing IT Program and Project Management delivery within the Product & Value Chain Domain. The role will have line management accountability for the team of IT project practitioners (programme and project managers, project coordinators) driving project delivery in the domain. The role is also accountable for the management of demand and supply for project activities.
You will be responsible for all domain level planning of project work as well as project management resourcing. This will include leading annual capital planning and the respective ongoing management of capital within the domain. This team will be required to manage projects using the Woolworths methodology and governance procedures and is part of the broader IT Project management capability. As such the role will participate in improving project efficiency and maturity over time.
- Leading the delivery of the project function within the domain area. Ensuring that projects are established and delivered in a manner that will ensure the achievement of agreed business outcomes
- Utilising existing (and if necessary establishing and implementing), metrics in order to effectively and continually measure domain project performance. Provide domain oversight and management of consistent project metrics, policies and procedures
- Establishing and managing the project delivery and governance processes within the domain area, which includes oversight of significant projects (e.g., strategic change management, new business and product initiatives, process re-engineering, and establishment of control procedures).
- Participate (through the ITMO) in project delivery development within IT, and the creation and maintenance of project management standards, methods, techniques and evaluation criteria.
- Facilitating project/program risk mitigation including scope, budgets, cross-project dependencies, key milestones, and resources. Ensure proper execution of risk management strategy throughout the project lifecycle for domain initiatives
- Identify and partner with ‘Head of IT’ for the resolution and rebalancing of resource capacity issues, including driving a consistent fit-for purpose strategic partner approach to ensure the domain extracts the greatest value from sourcing relationships locally and abroad.
- Monitor projects with regard to budget and time constraints to ensure that projects remain within projected allocations and timeframes
What will I bring?
- 10+ years of Program/Project Management experience.
- Demonstrated successful experience in defining, implementing and maintaining a Project Delivery function
- Previous experience in an IT leadership role, leading large and diverse teams
- Business side functional accountability highly desirable within the product & value chain functional area
- Vendor engagement (both software vendor and professional services providers)
- Demonstrated capability of working with onshore and offshore team
- Cost centre management experience within an IT context
