What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Executive Director of Research, the Manager, Research Strategy will provide management, support and advice at a high level in the areas of research, innovation and collaboration. 
 
NSLHD has a strong interest in fostering collaboration with key partners to drive research and its translation, with the aims of improving patient care, strengthening health outcomes and increasing the profile/standing of local research. The Manager, Research Strategy is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen the NSLHD’s research portfolio.
 
The position will work to ensure strong relationships with key research partners including the Kolling Institute for Medical Research and the Kolling Foundation; academic partners including the University of Sydney, Macquarie University, and the University of Technology, Sydney;and relevant community, industry and Government agencies. The position will actively develop and promote community and industry sector engagement in the NSLHD research portfolio.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevant qualifications in a science or health related discipline and/or extensive relevant experience with proven leadership, management and organisational skills in a clinical or health research environment.
  2. Experience in operational management in a complex health environment.
  3. Proven record of achievement in project management and leading organisational change.
  4. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to develop complex documents, such as briefs, reports and grant submissions.
