Technology Lead - Sydney Office - Permanent Full Time

Domain is looking to hire a Technology Lead in our Consumer Division, working across key experiences that help Australians have confidence in their property decisions.

The Technology Lead provides end-to-end visibility across various technical domains and facilitates collaboration among technical SMEs. The role evaluates technical feasibility and options for solutions and helps in identifying low-level dependencies, technical risks, and mitigation options and ensures technical health of the asset and adherence to a technical debt budget.

The Technology Lead works closely with the Product Manager, Business Analyst and Designer to establish technical requirements and lead the technical direction of the work. The role Involves setting (and continuously improving) technical standards and relevant patterns for software delivery. The Technology Lead ensures the smooth running of the delivery team, focusing on quality and delivery excellence.

This will see you:

  • Execute and deliver on the roadmap in collaboration with Product and Design
  • Drive work and epic breakdown for effective estimation, capacity planning and delivery
  • Manage and unblock technical dependencies with other teams where required
  • Champion and adopt Engineering best practices
  • Accountable to the System Health and Tech debt backlog for their respectively owned service
  • Improve engineering efficiency for their respective team
  • Accountable to reporting on delivery metrics for their respective team
  • Mentor and coach software engineers in progressive engineering practices
  • Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Architects to drive Solution Design for large initiatives

Who are you?

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Designing software solutions for scale
  • With either highly trafficked customer facing websites and/or complex mobile apps
  • Optimising engineering practices and processes
  • Data informed decision making
  • Working with one of the common Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
  • Implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD
  • Working in Agile environments
  • Mentoring more junior engineers
  • Leading a team of engineers
  • Working in triads (Product, Design and Tech)
  • Deep expertise in at least one programming language and tech stack
