Nominations open to name country's top businesswomen
Nominations for the Telstra’s 19th annual Business Women’s Awards, giving the nation’s top businesswomen the chance to share in the same accolades as Carolyn Creswell, Janine Allis and Margot Spalding.
Kate McKenzie, Group Managing Director Telstra Innovation, Products and Marketing and Telstra Business Women’s Awards Ambassador, strongly encouraged Australian women to get their entries in before the closing date of 25 June.
“Finalists and winners agree the entry process is a very worthwhile investment of time and is in itself rewarding as you review your business and personal journey and reflect on your career achievements.
“We urge women who have been nominated this year to complete their online submissions for the opportunity to join the illustrious list of awards alumni from the past 18 years.”
Lee De Winton, currently Base Commander of the Multi National Base Tarin Kowt in Afghanistan, was a 2012 Telstra Business Women’s Award winner when she was managing the Australian Defence Force’s busiest airfield at Williamtown in NSW. She is also urging women to follow in her footsteps and participate in the awards this year.
She said: “I found the whole process personally and professionally rewarding. Completion of the in-depth submission allowed me to reflect on my work and experiences and review my accomplishments with pride and satisfaction - that alone was reward in itself.
“The personal benefits for me will be forever enduring. I regard my success in the awards as one of the highlights of my career and I was humbled by the support I received. I took great pride in the fact that my work in the Royal Australian Air Force was recognised for its importance alongside so many other talented and successful women.”
