The Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, has announced the appointment of Rick Turchini to the board of NBN Co.

 

Mr Turchini, a civil engineer with over 40 years experience in the constrution industry, will be joining to board as the company ramps up its infrastructure deployment.

 

Mr Turchini worked in the electricity sector as a civil engineer before spending 23 years at Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd, retiring in 2003 as General Manager New South Wales and ACT and Company Director.

 

In 2005, Mr Turchini re-entered the workforce as Managing Director of Baulderstone Pty Ltd before retiring in late 2010.

 

Mr Turchini has also served as a member of the Australian Constructors Association Board, the National Advisory Board of Infrastructure Partnerships Australia, and the New South Wales Government Construction Roundtable.

 

"Mr Turchini’s construction experience, coupled with his management experience overseeing large infrastructure projects, will enhance the already strong skill set of the NBN Co board," Senator Conroy said.

 

Mr Turchini will commence his role immediately.
