Fast food CEO changes pace
A new appointment will see an international CEO move from one end of the food supply chain to the other.
Keith Warren is pulling up stumps from his role with Yum Restaurant International (which owns KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and others) and moving to the country, or at least its business sector, taking on the role of CEO at the Consolidated Pastoral Company.
CPC is one of Australia’s prime beef companies, running about 360,000 head of cattle across 5.6 million hectares of land in Queensland, WA and the NT. CPC was bought from the Packer family and Ken Warriner in 2009, the company also holds a 50 per cent stake in a venture which runs cattle feedlots in Indonesia.
Consolidated Pastoral chairman Mark Bahen said in a statement today that Mr Warren had a record of outstanding achievement. Mr Bahen also says Warren’s knowledge and understanding of the food sector would bring a major boost to CPC as it developed into a more market-focused supplier.
Mr Warren comes to Australia after success with Yum Restaurants’ African operations, where he trebled the company’s business across its various restaurants.
