• Support the Head of Legal in leasing and property matters, and commercial matters including:
  • reviewing and advising on all property matters in all jurisdictions, including: leases, option leases, car parking licenses and short term licenses;
  • reviewing or drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with suppliers and contractors; and
  • reviewing and providing advice on matters relating to risk and compliance, including the ongoing improvement of governance risk and compliance of all systems, and departments
• Provide administrative support to the Head of Legal, including:
  • updating and maintaining status reports (including legal, and property status reports);
  • undertaking research when required, and drafting appropriate correspondence;
  • preparation of documents for execution in accordance with policy and procedures; and
  • assisting with statutory reporting where necessary

What you’ll bring

• Approximately 5 years’ experience as a lawyer who has worked in mid or top tier law firms, or has worked in-house in a reputable organization
• A current Legal Practicing Certificate
• Solid experience in property matters and commercial matters
• Solid experience in drafting contracts
• Knowledge of laws, in particular retail leases legislation in all states
• Eye for detail and producing quality advice and work in an efficient manner and within tight timeframes
• Ability to work autonomously and a collaborative, positive can-do attitude
